Low Cost Rome City Breaks

Low Cost City Breaks to Rome

The capital of Italy, this symbolic city remains a top favourite amongst tourists for its history, cuisine and yearlong buzz. A haven of Roman remains; you will be overwhelmed by the presence of the Colosseum, whilst buildings such as the Pantheon and Castel Sant’Angelo are also impressive designs to this day. The city also houses some of the best shopping areas in Italy, with high fashion to local crafts providing an endless choice for retail therapy on your city break. But amongst the architecture and shops, the city prides itself on its vast areas of beautiful greenery around its ancient (and now public) villas and their gardens. These make for wonderful walks, especially in the summer months.

When on a Rome city break, why not visit a whole new country? The Vatican City is classed as a state in its own right, and once you see the grandeur of the place few would disagree with its claims, especially after entering the amazing St Peter’s Basilica.

If you are looking for a romantic city break, Rome doesn’t fail to delight. Sites such as the Trevi fountain and Spanish Steps are beautiful stops when exploring the city. But for some time off the beaten track, a walk up Gianicolo Hill offers the most wonderful views of Rome. And watching the sun set dining al fresco in the city centre is the perfect way to end the day, whatever the occasion.

A Rome city break offers chic bars and cafes provide that provide the perfect atmosphere to relax in the evening, whilst those with a taste for live music never have to look far to find performances from jazz bands in bars to great classical performances either in the concert halls or outside in the summer. As the evening gets later, the locals come out to party and the clubs open their doors. But for the simple pleasures, the city looks magical with its sights illuminated in the dark, and visitors wander the streets appreciating its beauty until late.

Historic Rome

We've just spent 3 days in Rome and we've loved it. It has plenty of things to see and experience. We mostly visited the historic part of the city and enjoyed walking round the narrow streets and trying to feel the place.

Rome is breathtaking. The sights are scattered all over the city and you discover churches, fountains and piazzas quite literally at every turn

Eternal City of Rome.

Rome is Rome. Very old buildings in good condition, full of tourists from all over the world. Lots of queues to get into the buildings, but well worth the wait to see how things were 2 thousand years ago. The Colosseum was my best, just to imagine what went on there, and then actually see the arena was amazing. Lots of walking needs to be done to get around and see all the sights, but there are many different tour buses available.
